Planning the proposal without losing your head.
There are people who spend months planning the perfect proposal: the sunset, the chapel, the hidden camera. And there are people who do it spontaneously, on the sofa, in their pyjamas. Both are right. What counts is not the backdrop, but that you know why you're asking.
That said, a few thoughts can help make the moment what it should be — your moment, not a production schedule.
Start with an honest picture: who is the person you're proposing to? Do they love grand gestures, or the quiet intimacy of just the two of you? Would they feel put on display in front of a crowd, or do they come alive in that situation? The best proposal is the one that suits you both — not Instagram.
If family plays a role — and for many of our customers who have roots in Turkey, Albania, Kosovo, or elsewhere, it does — involving the parents is often not a formality but a sign of respect. Not everyone feels the same way about this, but those who do know what it means. Call before you ask. It takes ten minutes and gives the moment a foundation.
On the location: beautiful is good. Meaningful is better. A place you both know — from a first date, a first trip — carries more weight than the most expensive table in the restaurant. But it doesn't have to be a place. Sometimes the moment is simply there, and you take it.
What causes you to lose your head are the things outside your control: the weather, the table, the photographer who's running late. What you can control: the ring, the words, the willingness to be vulnerable. The second of these is what lasts.
And the ring? We chose it together. The craftsmanship is our part. So that in that moment you're not thinking about carats and certificates, but about her or him. That is our job — a table, an espresso, two chairs, and a conversation. Come by.
