Privacy Policy

When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically records technical information in server log files – for example your IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, and the time of access. This data is used exclusively for the technical security and stability of the website and is not linked to any other data.

When you get in touch with us, request an appointment, sign up for the newsletter, or request a 3D model, we process the information you provide yourself: typically your name, email address, phone number, your message, and any images you upload. We only process what we actually need for that purpose.

Information from the contact and appointment forms is sent to us by email (SMTP, TLS-encrypted). We use it solely to answer your enquiry and organise the appointment, and we do not pass it on to third parties without your consent.

Jewellery enquiries (for example for a bespoke ring) are additionally stored as an enquiry in our own customer system, including any images you upload (up to three). This lets us handle your request personally and keep track of its progress. We run the customer system ourselves; the data is kept in our own database.

Equivalent contact channels are WhatsApp, phone, and email. WhatsApp is a service of Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. with its own privacy policy, which you can view at whatsapp.com/legal. Please note that when you write via WhatsApp, data is processed on Meta's servers.

If you sign up for our newsletter, we first send you an email with a confirmation link (double opt-in). Your subscription only becomes active once you click that link; without confirmation we send nothing. Your email address and the time of confirmation are stored in our own customer system.

We use your address solely for news from the studio. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email or with a short message to info@eminjewelry.ch.

On the ring detail pages you can have the 3D model of a ring sent to you by email. For this we store your email address in our customer system and send you the link to the model. You can optionally sign up for the newsletter at the same time; this only happens if you tick the box, and likewise only after confirmation via link (double opt-in).

If you choose "by video" when booking online, the consultation takes place in a video room provided by Daily (Daily.co, Inc., San Francisco, USA). The room is created only for your appointment, opens shortly before it and expires automatically afterwards. You need neither an app nor an account; the link is in your confirmation email.

When you join, your video and audio streams as well as technical connection data (IP address, browser, device) are transmitted via Daily's servers, partly in the USA. Daily is contractually bound to process data only on our instructions (standard contractual clauses). Conversations are not recorded. See daily.co/legal/privacy-policy for details. If you prefer not to use video, simply choose an in-person consultation.

On this website you can chat with “émin Abi”, our digital advisor. No account is required. Your messages are sent to OpenAI (USA) to generate the answers; only the content you type into the chat yourself is transmitted. Please do not enter any sensitive personal data in the chat (for example about health, religion, or finances).

Conversations are stored in our own database so we can review and improve the quality of the advice. The chat history in your browser is only kept for as long as the tab stays open.

This website does not set any tracking or marketing cookies without your explicit consent. For operation we only use technically necessary storage in your browser: your language choice, your decision in the cookie banner (localStorage), the chat history with émin Abi (sessionStorage, deleted when the tab is closed), and a few display states, for example whether the info card about the 3D model has already been shown to you.

These entries contain no personal data and are not transmitted to third parties. You can delete them at any time via your browser settings.

To understand which pages are visited and how our website is used, we run our own cookieless analytics. We store page views and individual events in our own database, for example whether an appointment was requested, WhatsApp was clicked, the chat was opened, or the newsletter was subscribed to.

No cookie is set and no IP address is stored. Instead we generate a visitor hash that changes daily and cannot be traced back to you. Recognising you across several days is therefore not possible. This measurement is based on our legitimate interest in improving the service and is not connected to any Google services.

In addition, we use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) to analyse the use of our website in more detail. These services are only loaded after you have explicitly agreed in the cookie banner. Without your consent, no Google script is loaded and no request reaches Google. After consent, your IP address is transmitted to Google; according to Google it is truncated and not permanently stored in Google Analytics 4. Data may also be transferred to the USA. You can withdraw your consent at any time via the „Cookie settings“ link at the bottom of the footer.

On the contact page you can load a map from Google Maps (Google Ireland Ltd., Dublin) to help you find our studio. The map does not load automatically: it only appears once you have agreed in the cookie banner or clicked „Load map“ on the contact page. Only then does your browser connect to Google; data such as your IP address and browser information is transmitted to Google, possibly including to the USA. We have no influence over this processing. This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA); it is delivered via servers that may also be located in the EU. Our own database (enquiries, newsletter, chat conversations, analytics) is hosted by Neon (Postgres) with servers located in the EU or the USA. Both providers process data on our behalf and are contractually bound to data protection. For transfers to the USA we rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses or the Data Privacy Framework.

We also use OpenAI (USA) for the chat and Google for analytics and the map, each as described in the relevant sections.

This website uses SSL/TLS encryption to protect the transmission of your data between your browser and our server. You can recognise it by the padlock icon in your browser's address bar and the "https://" prefix in the URL. The website's fonts are stored on our own server; no font files are loaded from Google or other third parties.

We keep enquiry data for as long as needed to handle your request. If an order results, the statutory retention periods for business records apply (generally ten years). Newsletter addresses are stored until you unsubscribe. After that, the data is deleted or anonymised.

You have the right to request information about the personal data we hold about you, to correct inaccurate data, to request deletion (to the extent permitted by law), to restrict processing, to receive your data in a common format, and to object to processing. To do so, write to us at info@eminjewelry.ch. We will process your request as quickly as possible, and at the latest within 30 days.

If you disagree with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

We may update this privacy policy at any time, in particular if legal requirements or our services change. The current version published on this page always applies. We recommend visiting this page occasionally to stay informed of any changes.
