Iced out, but real

Iced out, but real

Iced out jewellery often looks the same at first glance: lots of shine, lots of stones, a price that seems too good to be true. At émin the difference shows the moment you look at the stones in daylight. We work with real lab-grown diamonds, IGI certified, set in 18k or 14k gold, designed to measure for you.

Tennis chain, Cuban link, tennis bracelet or pendant: tell us what you want and we'll show you stones, settings and weight before you decide. No cubic zirconia that clouds over within a year, just a piece you'll still love wearing in ten years.

Real diamonds or cubic zirconia? The honest difference

Cubic zirconia can look convincing in the shop, the problem shows up later at home. After a few months of daily wear, showers and sport, the surface dulls, the edges lose their sharpness, the shine turns slightly cloudy. A lab-grown diamond is real carbon, chemically and optically identical to a natural diamond. It stays hard, clear and brilliant no matter how often you wear it.

We're not here to talk down cubic zirconia, it has its place for a quick look. émin stands for the other choice: a piece you can wear every day without it looking different a year later. Read more about the difference between lab-grown and natural diamonds in our guide.

Lab-grown diamond vs. cubic zirconia

Four honest points, no sales pressure.

Both are honest options for different budgets, we'll tell you openly what fits your plan.

What we don't do

Grillz aren't part of what we offer. We focus on jewellery you actually wear every day: chains, bracelets, pendants and rings with real stones. If you're looking for grillz, we're not the right address, and we'd rather tell you that upfront.

What VVS actually means

VVS stands for very very slightly included, one of the highest clarity grades for diamonds. Inclusions are so small that even an expert only finds them under ten times magnification, with the naked eye you'll see nothing. VVS is a clarity grade, not a marketing word that automatically means quality.

For an iced-out piece with many small stones, VVS isn't always worth it, a lower clarity is often enough without any visible difference in daily life. We'll tell you honestly where higher clarity pays off and where your budget is better spent on size or weight.

Settings that make the difference

How the stones are set shapes the look at least as much as the stones themselves. Mosaic settings pack stones of different sizes tightly together, honeycomb settings form a hexagonal pattern, micro pavé sets tiny stones so closely the setting almost disappears.

An inverted setting, where the stone sits lower and the edges protect it, is also an honest choice for everyday jewellery. We'll show you in person which technique suits your piece.

How your piece comes together

2

3D render

We build your piece as a 3D model so you see shape, setting and stone size before anything is made.

3

Approval

You approve the model, or we adjust it together as many times as needed.

4

Making

Your piece is made to measure and handed over at the atelier or shipped to you.

Frequently asked questions

At émin we only work with real diamonds, usually lab-grown with an IGI certificate. Chemically and optically they're identical to natural diamonds, the only difference is how they formed. We deliberately don't offer cubic zirconia, because it dulls quickly and holds no real value.

VVS is a clarity grade for diamonds and stands for very, very small inclusions that are only visible under strong magnification. It's a technical term from the 4Cs, not a marketing invention. We'll explain in person which clarity actually makes sense for your piece and where you can save budget without it showing.

A well-made setting holds up for years under normal daily wear. We check every prong and bezel carefully before handover, but we still recommend a quick check once a year, especially for chains and bracelets that move a lot. That only takes a few minutes at the atelier.

Both are real gold, the difference is purity: 18k is 75 percent gold, 14k around 58.5 percent, which makes it a bit harder and more robust for daily wear. For delicate pieces with many stones we often recommend 18k, for solid chains 14k is plenty, we'll advise based on your piece.

That depends a lot on width and length, a 3 mm tennis chain weighs noticeably less than a solid 10 mm Cuban link. We tell you the approximate weight before you order and let you try the piece on beforehand whenever possible, so it feels right for you.

Yes, very welcome. A sketch, a photo from the internet or simply a clear description is enough as a starting point. We turn it into a 3D model that we refine together until it's exactly right, before anything gets made.

Depending on complexity we usually plan two to five weeks from approval of the 3D model. A simple pendant is faster, a solid Cuban link with many stones takes longer. If you have a fixed date, tell us right at the start so we can plan around it.

The price depends on gold, weight and the number of stones, so we won't give you one flat number here. In person we break down every item openly before you decide, with no surprises on the invoice.
