Gold, solid, made to measure

A gold chain that fits your wrist and your everyday life

A men's gold chain is more than a link type from a catalogue. At émin in Zurich District 4 we discuss which chain type fits your style, how heavy it should feel and how long it needs to be so you actually enjoy wearing it every day.

Whether a solid Cuban link for a big statement or a fine Figaro for everyday under your collar: we design your chain to measure, in 18k or 14k gold, and explain upfront exactly how weight and price add up.

Why a custom gold chain

A length that actually fits

We measure your neck or discuss the length you're used to, so the chain neither slides around nor sits too tight. Standard lengths are a compromise, made to measure isn't.

Weight you feel, not regret

A solid chain feels different from a hollow one. We explain the difference and build the chain at the weight that suits your everyday life and your budget.

18k or 14k gold

We work with both alloys and explain the difference in purity, colour and price before you decide. No jargon, just a clear recommendation.

Chain types compared

Every link type has its own character. This overview helps you choose.

Chain typeLookWeightEveryday wear
Cuban linkSolid, wide links, very presentHeavy, noticeable on the neckFor a big statement, less for daily wear
FigaroAlternating short and long links, classicMediumVersatile, good under a shirt or worn open
Box (curb)Tight, flat links, very sturdyMedium to heavyDurable, rarely tangles, good for everyday
RopeTwisted like a rope, fine shineLight to mediumComfortable to wear, pairs well with a pendant
FrancoSquare braided pattern, very fineMediumElegant, catches the light in motion, everyday and occasion

We build every chain type in the width and length that suits you.

Weight and price: what really goes into it

The price of a gold chain has two parts: the gold price for the pure weight and the work for link type, clasp and finishing. We show you both openly, not as one number without explanation. That way you understand why a wide Cuban costs more than a fine Figaro of the same length.

Solid or hollow is the second important decision. A solid chain weighs more, lasts longer and feels more substantial to wear, but also costs more gold. A hollow chain looks almost identical, but is lighter on the neck and lower in price. We tell you honestly what fits your taste and your budget.

Frequently asked questions

That depends on your style and everyday life. Cuban link looks solid and present, Figaro and Franco are more versatile and understated, rope sits softly on the neck. In conversation we show you every type and work out together what fits you.

A solid chain is worked in gold all the way through, weighs more, lasts longer and costs more gold accordingly. A hollow chain looks almost identical but is lighter on the neck and less expensive. Both have their place, we advise you honestly on which fits.

From two parts: the gold price for the pure weight of the chain, and the work for link type, clasp and finishing. We show you both items openly so you understand what you are paying for.

That depends on your neck size and how you want to wear the chain. Between 45 and 60 cm are the most common lengths. We measure you best at the atelier or by video so the chain truly fits.

Both are real gold, the difference is in purity: 18k has more pure gold, is slightly softer and warmer in tone, 14k is more robust for everyday wear and less expensive. We explain the differences and recommend what suits how you wear it.

Yes, most of our chains work well with a pendant, whether a logo, an initial or another motif. Tell us at the time of order that a pendant will be added, then we match the bail to it.

For a custom chain we usually plan two to three weeks, depending on link type and length. If you need it sooner, tell us right at the start so we can see what's possible together.
