Iced out means plenty of stones and plenty of shine, usually on a tennis chain or a bracelet. The real question is what's actually set into it. Cubic zirconia looks good on day one but loses its sparkle over time and is practically worthless on resale. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, certified, and cost noticeably less than natural stones.

Why lab-grown diamonds change iced-out jewellery
Iced out lives on quantity: many small, even stones set close together. With natural diamonds that gets expensive fast, because even a single carat already costs a lot. Lab-grown diamonds bring the same look and the same hardness at a noticeably lower price, which is what makes a bigger chain or a heavier bracelet realistic in the first place.
Cubic zirconia, on the other hand, isn't a diamond at all, it's a synthetic crystal. It's cheap, but softer, clouds faster and is more sensitive in everyday wear. For a one-off night out that might be fine, for a piece you'll wear for years we honestly recommend a real stone.

A cleanly made setting in 18k or 14k gold lasts many years under normal wear. It's worth checking the chain regularly for loose prongs, especially if you wear it often and every day. We show you what to look out for yourself when we hand the piece over.
The number describes the gold content, 18k means 75 percent pure gold, 14k means around 58.5 percent. 18k gold is more valuable and slightly softer, 14k is a bit harder and more affordable. For a tennis chain with many small settings we usually recommend 18k, for sturdier prongs.
