Men's wedding bands: wide, matte, honest

Men's wedding bands rarely need the spotlight, they just need to sit well every single day. At émin in Zurich District 4 we talk openly about width, weight and finish, instead of pushing a narrow standard model on you that looks lost on your hand.

Whether a slim 5 mm or a bold 8 mm, brushed matte or classically polished: you try on real sample rings and feel directly what fits your daily life, whether that's an office, a workshop or the sports field. Along the way we explain honestly what upkeep each metal actually needs.

What matters in a men's wedding band

Width matched to your hand, not a trend

A large hand often looks out of proportion with a narrow ring, a small hand overwhelmed by a very wide one. We fit you with several widths until the ratio feels right.

A finish that stays honest

A brushed matte ring shows everyday marks less than a high polish. It can always be re-matted at a service visit whenever you like, without losing any metal.

Metal that keeps up with you

Yellow and rose gold are equally durable at the same alloy, white gold needs a fresh rhodium layer every few years, platinum is the most stable in shape but also the heaviest and priciest.

Widths compared: what suits your hand

A first orientation. In the end, what matters is how the ring actually feels on your hand.

WidthLookRecommendation
5 mmSlim, understated, on the classic sideFor narrower hands or anyone who prefers a quieter ring in general
6 mmBalanced, the most commonly chosen width for menA good middle ground for most hand sizes
7 mmPresent, without feeling bulkyFor a stronger hand or anyone who wants the ring clearly visible
8 mmStriking, a clear statement on the fingerFor very strong hands, or as a deliberately bold choice

Matte or polished: what stays looking good longer

A high polish looks fantastic fresh out of the workshop, but shows every fine scratch from daily life. A brushed matte finish reads a little calmer from the start and hides wear far better, especially with manual work, sport, or a lot of hand contact at your job.

Both can be changed later: a matte ring can be polished, a polished one re-matted. Just plan a little time for a visit to the atelier whenever you want to refresh the finish, we'll show you how to care for the ring at home too while you're there.

Frequently asked questions

That's best worked out at the atelier, we fit you with several widths from 5 to 8 mm so you see directly what looks proportional. As a rough guide, the stronger the hand, the more a wider ring tends to suit it, but that's never a fixed rule.

A matte surface wears very slightly over time and picks up a subtle sheen, that's completely normal. If you don't like that, we simply re-matte the ring at a service visit, it's part of ordinary care and takes little time.

Yes, platinum is especially stable in shape and barely wears down, but it also brings more weight and a higher price than gold. We show you platinum and gold side by side so you can compare the weight and feel directly.

In most cases, yes, a plain ring without a setting can usually be adjusted by up to two sizes. Just stop by the atelier, we check it directly on the ring and tell you honestly what's still possible.

Yes, a simple inner engraving with your names, a date or a few words is included in the price. A wider ring leaves plenty of room inside for a bit more text than a very narrow model.

As a guide price, expect from CHF 2'400 for the pair, even if the men's ring is wider or made from a different metal. We break down every item openly before you decide, so you know exactly what you're paying for.
