A three-stone ring, also called a trilogy ring, carries three diamonds instead of one: a slightly larger centre stone and two smaller ones on either side. At émin in Zurich, every three-stone ring is built entirely to measure, based on the setting technique from our collection, with stones you choose yourself.

Which cuts suit a three-stone ring
Classically, the side stones on a three-stone ring are cut as pears or trapezes, pointing toward the centre stone, which draws the eye inward and feels fluid. Just as well, three matching round cuts in graduated sizes work, or an oval centre stone flanked by two smaller ovals, calmer and more contemporary in feel.
In the end, your taste decides, not a fixed rule. During the consultation we show you several cut combinations with real stones, so you can see how light and size play together before the ring goes into production.

No. Side stones often carry a different cut than the centre stone, such as pear or trapeze beside an oval or round centre. Just as well, all three can be set in the same cut, which reads calmer and more contemporary.
As a guide, side stones sit at roughly a third to half the weight of the centre stone, so it clearly stays the focal point. During the consultation we show you different proportions with real stones before you decide, so the balance feels right.
A three-stone ring costs noticeably more than a solitaire with a comparable centre stone, because of two extra stones and settings. A complete solitaire with a 1 carat lab-grown diamond in a classic prong setting, in 18k gold or platinum, also available in 14k gold on request, already starts at CHF 1'900, and we calculate the surcharge for the side stones openly with you during the consultation.
For the centre stone and larger side stones, yes, usually from IGI. Smaller side stones are sometimes sold without an individual certificate, though checked just as carefully. We explain during the consultation which stones in your combination get their own certificate.
For a custom-made three-stone ring we usually plan three to five weeks from order, somewhat longer than a solitaire, because three stones need sourcing and three settings need building. If you have a fixed proposal date, tell us right at the start.
No, that's completely normal. We measure your ring size at the atelier in a few minutes, or you can bring an existing ring to compare. The size can usually still be adjusted after the ring is made, if anything changes on your finger.
